Another Nightmare

Another Nightmare explores the connections between historical photographic processes and contemporary 3D imaging; drawing out the erotic, disturbing and banal elements of video game images. The photographic works in the exhibition appear to show traditional photographic subject matter, portraits and still lifes, but reveal themselves to be computer-generated models of plants, weapons and faces replicated from popular fantasy role playing video games. The smooth polygons of the digital spectacle, contend with the ‘authenticity’ of the analogue photograph, opening a window between truth and fantasy.
